DECLARATION OF CYBERWAR
Whereas, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the friendly relations which have connected them with another, a decent respect to the opinions of humankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the dissolution.
Noting that the Declaration of the French Revolution made in 1791 on the Rights of Man states: "All men are born free and with equal rights, and must always remain free and have equal rights."
Mindful that, nevertheless, for more than 30 years, the French Republic, abusing the standard of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, has violated our country and attempted to undermine our federation, acting contrary to the ideals of humanity and justice.
Whereas in interfering in our own politics, they have attempted to deprive our people of very democratic liberty. These intrusions are part of a deliberate and systematic campaign of intervention that the French Republic has been waging against Canada. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our country, and our interests are threatened by such a reckless attitude.
Concerned that France has hampered the prospering of our experiment in government, undertaking a covert offensive against the True North Strong and Free, extending throughout this period. Canada, a country that has done so much for France - fighting for her freedom, to a toll of almost 50,000 Canadian lives in two world wars. Always will we remember the way we have been thanked for our efforts.
Whereas uni.ca approves and supports the determination of Canadians to take all necessary measures to defend Canada's democracy from outside interference, and to prevent further involvement in our own affairs by the Government of France, that we may move forward and attempt to meet our internal challenges unhindered by the arrogance of foreigners. This determination is strong, stretching from coast to coast to coast, and is shared by French Canadians, English Canadians, and all others in our federation.
Whereas France has chosen to ignore our ultimatum, and thereby refuses to officially declare non-involvement in the Canadian unity crisis, even caught as they are in guilty-minded transgressions of international decorum.
Whereas we accept this challenge of retaliatory purpose because we know that in such a government, following such methods, we can never have a friend; and that in the presence of its organized power, always lying in wait to accomplish we know not what purpose, there can be no assured security for the democratic government of Canada.
Whereas we are glad, now that we see the facts with no veil of false pretense about them, to move thus for the ultimate justice in this matter and for the liberation of the Canadian people from this meddlesome intent: for the rights of countries great and small to choose their way of life. The world must be made safe for peace, order, and good government.
Now, therefore, be it Resolved that there shall be Cyberwar between Canada and this rogue, this Republic of France.
