Say goodbye to waiting in line

What could be more annoying than having to wait in line at your financial institution’s ATM on a Friday evening before you rush off to get groceries and then hurry home to make supper for the company that’s on the way? You should know that it’s now easy to do most banking transactions online through AccèsD. You can:

  • pay your bills
  • check your transaction history
  • view your account statements online
  • transfer money between accounts
  • transfer money to another person
  • deposit cheques
  • order new cheques
  • and much more!

AccèsD is available around the clock, 365 days a year, and comes with after-hours telephone support. You can access it using your smartphone, computer, smartwatch or tablet. This service is included in all plans.

Mobile deposits: Or, never having to lick another envelope

After a weekend of family camping, it’s time to settle up with everyone. Your uncle forgot his wallet, and so you paid for the gas and groceries. You suggest that he send you an Interac eTransfer® on his phone, but instead he pulls out his trusty chequebook. No problem: using mobile deposit, you can deposit his cheque by simply taking a photo of it without having to go to an ATM. How it works:

  • Download the AccèsD app.
  • Activate the mobile deposit feature by accepting the terms of use.
  • Take photos of the front and back of the cheque using your smartphone or tablet.
  • Indicate the cheque amount.
  • Select the account you want to deposit the funds to… and voilà!

You have immediate access to the funds deposited to your account. It’s easy, instant, and free under all plans at UNI.

Mobile payment solutions 2.0

In a restaurant at an after-work gathering, you run into a co-worker and offer to buy him a drink while you discuss a major project. When the server returns, you realize that you left your wallet in your coat, which is in your car, which is in the office parking lot a 15-minute walk away... Fortunately, there are now mobile payment solutions that are fast and free!

Available to members since 2017, the Apple Pay® and Google PayTM apps make it possible for users of AndroidTM and Apple® devices to pay securely for purchases of up to $100 at a wide range of businesses, from hair salons and coffee shops to retails stores and garages. This secure payment mode also comes with full protection in the unlikely event of fraud. There is no additional cost for using these apps, which are treated the same as card-based transactions. Of course, you do need your smartphone (which is not included in our plans!).

One more thing: Don’t forget to activate Apple Touch ID® or Android Fingerprint LockTM in order to enable secure access via your UNI mobile app.

Interac Flash: One card is all you need

Going out on a Friday night without cash or your smartphone AND without looking like a cheapskate… Can it be done? Of course – all you need is your debit card! Enjoy all the same advantages of easy payment without having to worry about losing your smartphone (or waiting for it to recharge) by using Interac Flash®. You can use it to pay securely for purchases of up to $100 without even having to enter your PIN. The latest card technology… at your fingertips!

E-mail alerts to avoid fees

It’s easy to lose track of all the transactions posted to your account. From car loans to student loans, preauthorized debits for monthly utilities, insurance premiums… The number of automated transactions and ongoing payments associated with an account can be dizzying. You now have the option to activate e-mail alerts for insufficient funds in AccèsD. Here’s what to do:

  1. Log in to AccèsD.
  2. In the right-hand menu, click Profile and preferences.
  3. In the pop-up menu that appears, click Alert service.

Free and effective, this e-mail alert service helps you avoid unnecessary fees.

Additional information about cheques: 

  • The vast majority of cheques are eligible for mobile deposit.
  • Cheques must be in Canadian funds and drawn on a Canadian financial institution.
  • Deposits may be made to a personal chequing account or non-registered regular savings account.
  • You should retain the original cheque for 10 days and then destroy it securely (don’t just toss it in the recycle bin!).
  • A $2,000 limit applies to cheques from a financial institution in another province.
  • Transactions are subject to limits of $10,000 per day and $100,000 per 30-day period.
