Camp Ectus

Description of project

Founded in 1961 and affiliated with the NB Camping Association, Camp Ectus caters to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13. More than 30,000 children have camped to date at the site, which has also provided employment to hundreds of students. The camp offers youth participants a group living experience with a focus on a democratic approach, fostering their sense of responsibility concerning the basic requirements of day-to-day life, development of healthy, balanced lifestyle habits and creative attitudes and aptitudes in relation to recreational activities, and introducing them to outdoor life through the discovery and appreciation of their surroundings, respect for nature and wise use of the environment.

Involvement of UNI

UNI is pleased to contribute to the development of our province’s youth, and Camp Ectus is the perfect place to create memorable moments for children and send them home with a positive learning experience they can draw on for the rest of their lives.
