Le Pays de la Sagouine

Le Pays de la Sagouine is a non-profit organization. A board of directors made up of individuals from the surrounding communities advises the organization’s management team. The mission of Le Pays de la Sagouine is to celebrate Acadia through the imaginary world of Antonine Maillet. This is the only tourism attraction of its kind across Canada in that it is based entirely on a literary work, that of the internationally renowned Acadian novelist and playwright Antonine Maillet.

One of the largest Acadian employers in the performing arts, Le Pays de la Sagouine is an ambassador of Acadia and gateway for the entire world through which visitors come to learn more about our culture and “joie de vivre” and Acadians come together to celebrate their heritage. Through the character of La Sagouine, it depicts a people’s enduring pride and the source of their inspiration. UNI is proud to contribute to the success of projects such as this that celebrate our Acadian culture.
