UNI takes action against fraud

At the Caisse, protecting members against fraud is a priority and we are doing all we can to ensure your peace of mind.

Credit and debit card fraud (skimming)

If your debit card is lost or stolen, we deactivate it as soon as you call us. Your business location will issue you a new card.

To report the loss or theft of your VISA Desjardins credit card, you can contact us 24/7 and we'll see to it that a new card is issued right away.

We are also equipped with additional security systems that check your identity when you use your debit card at an ATM. In addition to your PIN, you may be asked to enter your date of birth when you make some transactions.

Identity theft

At the Caisse, we take several measures to protect your personal information and your transactions:

  1. We do not divulge any information about our members without their consent.
  2. The Caisse employees are not authorized to ask for your password or PIN.
  3. The Caisse employees cannot ask for personal information over the phone, including debit card numbers, birthdates and social insurance numbers, except during the usual authentication procedure when members contact us.
  4. Most personal cheques available from the UNI include the IDefenseTM service from Davis+Henderson, which ensures that you get the assistance you need in the event of identity theft.

The Caisses populaires acadiennes does not solicit members for personal and confidential information by e-mail or otherwise.
