Hello. I have decided to resubmit my candidacy for several reasons. The first is that I feel I am still an asset to UNI, given my experience on the board during my first term. The second is my personal and professional experience as a citizen and entrepreneur who uses UNI. UNI must keep up with trends and live up to our expectations. And finally, our institution is important and must continue to shine and assume its rightful place.
I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree, an entrepreneurship diploma from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from London School of Economics. I have worked in the mining industry for 25 years. I sit on a number of boards, including the UNB Board of Governors, the New Brunswick Judicial Council, the New Brunswick Museum, and was formerly President of the Lamèque Cooperative. In 2022, I was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for 20 years of community service.
In late 2024, a call for nominations was made to fill one (1) position on the Caisse board of directors for the Northwest Area. Following the candidate selection process, the nomination of one (1) candidate was accepted. The candidate is therefore elected by acclamation, meaning that no election will be held for this region this year.
It is important to note that the election of a candidate must be ratified during the 2025 annual general meeting. Routine checks must also be conducted to ensure that the person elected continues to meet eligibility conditions as they had declared at the time of nomination.
A teacher by profession for 32 years at the Cité des Jeunes A.-M.-Sormany school in Edmundston and at the Université de Moncton, Edmundston campus, I have always closely followed the development of the Caisse populaire acadienne. My background is in education and business administration. I am seeking a third term on UNI’s Board of Directors. My motivation for getting involved is to see UNI succeed, so that members can be proud of their Acadian financial institution.
I was born on January 24, 2004, in Marrakesh, Morocco. Passionate about science, I studied physical and chemical sciences before pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration, specializing in finance, in Canada. With experience in accounting, management and financial analysis, I have developed strong leadership and communication skills. Trilingual (Arabic, French, English), I am actively involved in my academic community and aspire to contribute to the financial development of organizations while meeting strategic challenges.
Retired and native of Scoudouc, I was Chair of the Board of the Fédération des caisses populaires acadiennes and have been active since 1990. I sit on the UNI Board as Chair of the Human Resources Committee and the Board of Trustees. I am Vice-President of the New Brunswick Nursing Home Pension Plan, a member of Shediac’s Town Council, and a former member of the boards of ANBL, Service New Brunswick and the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport.
With two decades of experience in governance, finance, human resources and sales development, I am passionate about sustainable, member-centred solutions. Active on several boards, including those of the Public Libraries Board and organizations for French-speaking newcomers, I bring a strategic and collaborative vision to the table. Lean Six Sigma certified, I wish to contribute to solid governance to ensure the development of our cooperative in the interests of the francophone and Acadian community.
I am a professional specializing in human resources management and public administration. As a former executive, I played a key role in identifying and integrating talent within the Haitian civil service. With expertise in strategic recruitment and organizational development, I am recognized for my commitment to strengthen efficiency and performance of public institutions through modern and transparent management processes.
A resident of Dieppe for several years, I hold a Master of Public Administration degree. I have worked as a development officer, manager, consultant and event organizer. I have been involved in my community, holding various positions on boards and committees in the cooperative, educational, cultural and social sectors. For the past 46 years, my involvement in New Brunswick's French-speaking community has always been motivated by the sole desire to contribute to the Acadian community’s development.
I am Habib Hamam, Ph.D., with extensive experience serving on administration boards of industrial, academic, and research institutions. As a former Canada Research Chair in “Optics in ICT” (2006-2016), I have developed strong expertise in strategic financial planning and project management. As Editor-in-Chief of CIT-Review, my skills extend to telecommunications, data protection, and AI. I am currently a professor at Université de Moncton and a registered professional engineer in New Brunswick.
