Caraquet's new sports and community center will be named Centre UNI.

Caraquet, September 25, 2025 — The Town of Caraquet is proud to announce that its new sports and community center will be namedCentre UNI, in recognition of a major contribution of $500,000 from UNI Financial Cooperation.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of a key facility for the community, designed to offer a modern and inclusive space dedicated to sports, culture, and community life.

"Centre UNI perfectly embodies the values of solidarity and dynamism that define our town. Thanks to UNI’s generous contribution, we are one step closer to realizing a gathering place at the heart of our community development," said Bernard Thériault, Mayor of Caraquet.

"At UNI, we firmly believe in the importance of supporting projects that strengthen the social and economic fabric of our regions. Centre UNI will become a hub of vitality not only for Caraquet, but also for surrounding communities, and we are proud to be part of it," stated Éric St-Pierre, CEO of UNI.

Centre UNI is set to open very soon and will offer a diverse program ranging from sports activities to cultural events, as well as accessible community services for people of all ages.
