Lighting the Way to Better Health Care in Northeastern New Brunswick!

The hospital foundations in Northeastern New Brunswick are launching the 9th Annual Northern Star Campaign today, in partnership with the region's Caisses populaires. This year’s overall objective for the Northern Star Campaign is $65,000. “Starting this morning, the staff of the Caisses populaires acadiennes and their points of service will invite the public to support this campaign, which aims to improve health care services in our region. Mini-Christmas trees costing $2, $5, $10, $25, $50, and $100 will be sold throughout the caisses populaires in the region,” mentioned Conrad Blanchard, representing the directors of the Caisses populaires, Northest region.

“Since 2005, a total of $495,813 has been raised through the Northern Star Campaign to improve health care services in our region. In addition to forging strong ties with our community members, this campaign helps raise public awareness of the urgent needs within our hospitals. It is within this context of collective awareness that we will succeed in meeting these challenges.

For more information or to make a donation, visit etoilenord.ca,” indicated Annie Cyr, Chair of the activity for the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation.

In addition, the lighting of dedicated Christmas trees, holiday-themed figures, and community fir trees near the hospitals will take place on December 1. Local residents are invited to participate and show their support.

The chairs of the 9th annual Northern Star campaign for each of the foundations include Annie Cyr (Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation), Bernard Thériault (Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus), Marie-Jeanne Noël (Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque), Yvon Losier (Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie), and Michel (Mike) Doiron (Friends of Healthcare Foundation).
