Members have voted for a single caisse in Moncton

At the end of their respective extraordinary general meetings, the members of Caisse populaire Beauséjour and Caisse populaire de Notre-Dame de Grâce have voted in favour of the merger project that was presented to them.

Caisse populaire Beauséjour and Caisse populaire de Notre-Dame de Grâce will then become a single entity, bearing the name Caisse populaire Beauséjour. The new caisse will be officially formed on January 1, 2012, following the approval of the project by the Superintendent of caisses populaires.

By joining the forces of these two caisses, the new Caisse populaire Beauséjour will manage a business volume of over $374 million and will serve nearly 13,000 members. The 54 employees of the new caisse will provide service to their members through the following four business locations: in Moncton, with offices on Churchill Street, Morton Avenue and Saint George Street, as well as in Fredericton.

This project will provide access to an even more specialized and structured consulting expertise, as well as greater possibilities for returns to individuals and businesses alike, while helping to ensure the survival of a solid and profitable caisse for years to come.

The elected officers of these caisses proudly welcomed the decision of their members, and ten of them will sit on the new board of directors. Following this merger, the Mouvement des caisses populaires acadiennes will have 15 caisses as of January 1, 2012, because two other caisse merger projects have been approved by their respective members since the beginning of 2011.
