Our generous members show solidarity to the victims of Fort McMurray

After an account aimed at helping the victims of Fort McMurray forest fires was opened, Caisses populaires acadiennes members generously responded to the distress of the residents of this decimated region. A total of nearly $30,566.00 was collected in the Aide aux sinistrés de Fort McMurray – Caisses populaires acadiennes account since May 6th.

The Red Cross will therefore receive close to $55,566.00 from the Caisses populaires acadiennes and its members if we take into account the amount of $25,000.00 announced by our institution on May 5th.

Our members have thus shown how natural it is to act with solidarity when the need arises. We are more than a financial institution and we believe that true wealth is one that is shared. Times like these make us feel even prouder to be Acadian. Thank you to our members for their generosity and let’s keep on doing what is necessary to provide support to these victims since the fires are still burning”, said Camille Thériault, Caisses populaires acadiennes President and CEO.

“We are consistently impressed by the generosity of our corporate partners such as the Caisses populaires acadiennes and its members who keep on donating to help Albertan evacuees”, voiced Bill Lawlor, Provincial Director with the Canadian Red Cross in New Brunswick.

The Aide aux sinistrés de Fort McMurray – Caisses populaires acadiennes campaign will run until June 6th. After this date, people will be able to make donations via Red Cross offices.
