The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie announces its 2025 Finalists
Caraquet, June 17, 2025 – The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet–Acadie Vie is proud to announce its 2025 finalists. The winner will be revealed during the 27th awards ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Cielo Glamping Maritime in Shippagan, during a private event.
This year, both the Prix Annuel and the Prix Volet Jeunesse Richelieu will be presented.
The Prix Annuel honors a work written in French and published by a recognized publishing house in one of the following categories: novel, poetry, short story, tale, narrative, play, or literary essay.
The 2025 finalists are:
- Johanne Parent, Bathurst, for her play Ornithorynques, published by Éditions Perce-Neige;
- Annette Boudreau, Grand-Barachois, for her essay on linguistic insecurity Parler comme du monde, published by Prise de parole inc.;
- Marc-André Charron, Moncton, for his play Hippocampe, published by Prise de parole inc.
The Prix Volet Jeunesse Richelieu annually recognizes the talent of a young Francophone author aged 15 to 25 in the categories of poetry, short story, tale, narrative, play, and essay. The finalist is:
- Myriam Thomas, Moncton, for her short story Clémence.
The finalists were selected by an independent jury, under the supervision of the New Brunswick Arts Board, from among 19 submissions received for the 2025 literary competition.

Founded in 1998 as part of Acadie Vie's 50th anniversary celebrations, the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie recognizes Acadians who, through the quality of their literary work, contribute to the promotion of Acadia around the world. Since 1999, the Prix has awarded $151,000 in bursaries to 51 Acadian authors, recognized for the excellence of their work, to help them pursue their passion for literary creation.
