The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie Announces Its 2026 Finalists
Caraquet, July 3, 2026—The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie is proud to announce its 2026 finalists. The winner will be revealed at the 28th annual awards ceremony on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Cielo Maritime Glamping in Haut-Shippagan as part of a private event.
This year, only the Prix Annuel will be awarded.
The Prix Annuel recognizes a work written in French and published by a publishing company in one of the following categories: novel, poetry, short story, storytelling, drama, or literary essay. The 2026 finalists are:
- Camille Perron-Cormier, Moncton, for her book Maude et le spectre, published by Éditions Bouton d’or Acadie
- Caroline Bélisle, Moncton, for her theatre text Les ensevelies, published by Éditions Perce-Neige
- Sébastien L. Chauzu, Hampton, for his novel Antisèches, published by Édition Prise de parole.
The Prix Volet Jeunesse Richelieu recognizes the talent of a young Francophone author between the ages of 15 and 25. However, this year the prize will not be awarded as no eligible submissions have been received. This has prompted UNI to reconsider how it can best reach emerging writers. An action plan will be implemented to incentivise participation and further encourage young authors to submit their works for next year’s award.
The finalists for the Prix Annuel were selected by an independent jury, under the supervision of the New Brunswick Arts Council, from among 19 entries received for the 2026 literary competition.
About the Acadie Vie Antonine Maillet-Literary Award
Founded in 1998 as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of Acadie Vie, the Acadie Vie Antonine Maillet Literary Award recognizes Acadians who, through the quality of their literary work, contribute to the visibility and promotion of Acadia in the world.
Since 1998, the Prize has awarded $156,000 in bursaries to 53 Acadian authors recognized for the excellence of their work, to help them pursue their passion for creative writing. For more information, see https://prixlitteraire.uni.ca/.
