The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie literary award announces 2022 finalists

The 2022 Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie literary award finalists are: 

  • Pierre-André Doucet for his novel Des dick pics sous les étoiles published by Éditions Prise de parole; 
  • Carl Philippe Gionet for his novel Icare published by Éditions Prise de parole; 
  • Mélanie Léger for her theatrical work Tsunami published by Éditions Prise de parole. 

 This year’s winner will be revealed during the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie 23rd award ceremony to be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at the Édifice Martin-J.-Léger in Caraquet. 

 The finalists were selected by the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie independent jury. Made up of members of the Acadian literary community, the jury made its selection among 25 literary works submitted for the 2022 edition of the renowned literary competition. 

 Following on from the award ceremony, the 2023 literary competition will be launched on Thursday, November 3. The nomination period will end on December 31, 2022. 

 The Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie literary awards will accept applications from young writers between the ages of 15 and 25 as part of the Jeunesse Richelieu category. The Prix Quinquennal recognizes the entire body of work by a French-speaking Acadian author in all literary categories. The Prix Annuel recognizes a work written in French and published by a publishing house.  

 

About the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie literary award 

Founded in 1998 as part of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Acadie Vie, the Prix littéraire Antonine-Maillet-Acadie Vie literary award recognizes Acadians who, through the quality of their work in the literary field, contribute to the influence and promotion of Acadia around the world. 

Since 1998, $135,000 has been granted in scholarships to 44 Acadian authors recognized for the excellence of their work, to help them pursue their passion for literary creation.
