UNI and the CCNB join forces: the signing of a collaboration agreement
Campbellton, September 14, 2023 - UNI and the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) are joining forces to offer students a work-study experience during their time at the CCNB, with the possibility of being hired at UNI during and after their studies to fill vacant positions.
This collaboration will enable students to learn their trade in a real-life work environment. A winning partnership, with the CCNB offering high quality training and the financial cooperative ranked as one of the best employers in Atlantic Canada.
In addition, the two institutions will work together to develop and implement a continuing education offering for UNI staff members, either from one of the five CCNB campuses or by distance learning, as required.
The solutions are here, so that New Brunswickers can work here in our beautiful province.
According to Camille Thériault, President and CEO at UNI, this new partnership will help meet recruitment challenges. “The CCNB has a proven track record, and we are confident that the students will be up to the challenge when they join our teams. We must also take care of our employees, and thanks to this partnership, we will be able to offer them professional development opportunities,” said Mr. Thériault.
For Pierre Zundel, President and CEO of the CCNB, this agreement reaffirms the importance of the CCNB’s role as a key vector in the training of a qualified workforce for the province. “We are delighted to build bridges with those who will facilitate not only the entry of our students into the job market, but also the ongoing development of UNI’s workforce,” says Mr. Zundel. “This is part of a mutual commitment of excellence and innovation, for the benefit of our students, our staff and our entire community.”
The five-year partnership agreement takes effect on September 14, 2023, and expires on September 1, 2028.
