UNI Announces the Results of Elections to Its Board of Directors

UNI Announces the Results of Elections to Its Board of Directors

Caraquet, April 28, 2026 Four individuals were elected or re-elected to the Board of Directors of UNI Financial Cooperation following the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), namely:

Northeast Region — Ms. Caroline Haché, elected

Northwest Region — Ms. Diane Pelletier, re-elected

Southeast Region — Ms. Rachelle Gagnon, elected by acclamation

Director appointed under By-law No. 1 (“appointed” category) — Ms. Josette Wedge,             re-elected

Each year, UNI invites its members aged 16 and over to actively participate in the governance of their financial cooperative. The electoral process was conducted in accordance with governance best practices to ensure the appointment of directors with the required and complementary skills to fully assume the roles and responsibilities of the Board of Directors, to the greatest benefit of its members and UNI. This process ensures adequate representation of the membership, the cooperative sector, and the financial and business communities, in compliance with the requirements set out in the governance guideline of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

David Losier, Chair of the Board, highlighted the importance of member participation in UNI’s electoral process to sustain the vitality of the cooperative model and to benefit from the contributions of directors who are closely connected to the realities and needs of members. “This process enables UNI to rely on a Board of Directors capable of ensuring responsible governance aligned with the institution’s strategic directions,” concluded Mr. Losier.

The Board of Directors congratulates the four directors on their election or re-election. These results allow the Board to reach the parity range it has defined, namely representation between 40% and 60%. With six women on the Board, UNI proudly continues its progress toward better representation of its membership.
