Enjoying retirement is also the art of converting investments into income and pursuing retirement plans. Travelling, enjoying your favourite sports, or simply maintaining your lifestyle are just a few of the dreams made possible by planning your retirement with an RRIF or LIF.
The Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) and the Life Income Fund (LIF)1 are the result of converting the capital accumulated in an RRSP, LIRA, LIRA or locked-in RRSP into retirement income. They are designed to provide you income that meets your needs.
Funds transferred to an RRIF or LIF continue to grow tax-sheltered until they are withdrawn. You can convert your RRSP to an RRIF at any time, or your LIRA or locked-in RRSP into LIFs, as there is no minimum age for subscription. However, the age limit for conversion is December 31 of the year in which you turn 71.
UNI has a wide range of investments tailored to your needs so that you can continue to grow your assets:
To find out how you can benefit from the RRIF and the LIF, please contact your advisor. You advisor will guide you in managing your retirement income.
