The 55,000 workers at Canada Post have been on an overtime strike since the evening of Thursday, May 22. They will therefore work eight hours a day, for a total of forty hours per week until further notice.

Meanwhile, negotiations continue.

To avoid any inconvenience caused by possible delays in the delivery of your mail, we encourage you to take the necessary steps to minimize reduce the impact on your day-to-day transactions and payments.

The following are some of the options available to you: 

  • Pay your bills at a branch counter or at an ATM. 
  • Make arrangements with your service providers to receive your bills and statements by e-mail or find out what other options are offered. 
  • Contact the government agencies or other entities from which you receive regular cheques or payments to find out if it is possible to sign up for direct deposit service so that the expected amounts can be deposited directly into your account. 
  • Register for my Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) file and have access to your tax slips at all times.

If you normally receive your documents by mail, such as a renewal notice or statement of account, it will be possible to obtain a copy at a branch. What's more, if erroneous or unauthorized transactions were not detected earlier due to a delay in the delivery of the account statement, we will be there to assist you and provide corrections or refunds, if necessary.
