Business location closures

Support program for communities affected by business location closures

We are very much aware that closing a business location is difficult for the community. As UNI is committed to being there with solutions and services adapted to the current habits of its members, here are a few solutions available to you.

Supporting you is our priority

Our members are our priority and we care about the communities we serve. With this in mind, and to support communities affected by these closures - especially during this transition period - UNI is offering a support program:

  • A Community Liaison Committee to discuss projects that contribute to the vitality and prosperity of the community. Composed of representatives of the municipality, community leaders and members, the objective is to work collaboratively on adapted solutions and meaningful initiatives. UNI welcomes feedback and ideas about potential community programs.

  • Information meetings and orientation sessions to learn more about our support and how we can help you simplify your daily transactions. As long as public health guidelines are respected, our community agents give presentations to groups in these communities on UNIAssisT, which includes telephone support at 1-888-359-1357 for people who are less connected online as well as the ability to make many routine transactions online in complete security and without having to travel.

  • Free transportation to a nearby business location for more at-risk client members in the Grande-Anse area. UNI has also partnered with Déplacement Péninsule to offer free rides to our client members in the Grande-Anse area who wish to visit the nearest business location in person.

  • Support for companies. Our account managers provide support to businesses in the community so they can implement direct deposit and other online services.

Carry out your daily transactions in complete security through your virtual business location — without having to travel.

Frequently asked questions

Due to COVID-19, large gatherings are less advisable, so we preferred to work with each community. Several virtual, telephone and face-to-face meetings were held with various representatives of the affected municipalities. We are also working with seniors’ organizations to provide the best possible support during the transition. In addition, UNI has set up a Community Liaison Committee.

This pandemic has brought its share of inconvenience. Like all other businesses, UNI must adapt to meet the requirements of Public Health guidelines. Several factors must be taken into account, such as the number of square feet and the number of people allowed. However, we are pleased to have found a way to reduce lineups with a new layout.
